PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating composition capable of producing a coating film with crosslinked monodisperse particles uniformly dispersed therein, usable for delustering a substrate surface and for providing the same with functions of anti-blocking, slip, and light scattering, and to provide a method for manufacturing said composition. SOLUTION: The coating composition contains (1) crosslinked fine particles resulting from the polymerization of (A) a non-crosslinkable monomer and (B) a crosslinkable monomer in (C) a solvent by using (D) an initiator in the absence of a dispersion stabilizer, (2) a crosslinked group-containing resin resulting from the polymerization of (E) a non-crosslinkable monomer and (F) a crosslinkable monomer, the resin not containing particles of 0.1μm or larger, and (3) a solvent.
