MANUFACTURING METHOD FOR AROMATIC POLYCARBONATE RESIN AND AROMATIC POLYCARBONATE RESIN

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an aromatic polycarbonate resin containing extremely little impurities, particularly volatile impurities and showing excellent dwelling stability and hue at a high temperature, and to provide its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The aromatic polycarbonate resin is manufactured by melt polymerizing a carbonate and an aromatic dihydroxy compound in the presence of a polymerization catalyst by means of a transeslerification method and then melting and kneading the obtained aromatic polycarbonate under a reduced pressure wherein a solvent having a Flory interaction parameter (χi) of less than 1 and a boiling point of no higher than 100 deg.C is added to the aromatic polycarbonate of the melt kneaded portion and then the aromatic polycarbonate is kneaded in the presence of the added solvent followed by a reduced pressure treatment.
