PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To continue dehumidifying even in a case when silent operation is effected under a condition that a room temperature is high. SOLUTION: Under a using environment wherein a load is applied on a compressor 22 due to the shortage of heat exchanging amount through an evaporator 26 upon the dehumidifying operation with a weak air volume, a fan 31 is operated with a strong air volume automatically by a control means whereby the load of the compressor 22 is reduced. Accordingly, even when the silent operation is effected under a condition that the room temperature is high, the number of operating times of a safety device for the compressor 22 is reduced or the operation of the safety device is eliminated and the continuation of the dehumidifying operation is permitted.
