PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hollow precast pile capable of holding a device in a fixed position on the inner periphery of the pile while preventing a hardenable material from flowing into a space to be formed; a method of forming a space; and a space forming tool. SOLUTION: The space forming tool, for forming a reinforcement space inside the pile head while discharging the hardenable material which flows into the hollow precast pile 1 when the hollow precast pile 1 is erected in a pile hole filled with the hardenable material, includes an annular plate 3 secured to the inner periphery of the head of the pile 1 and having a hole 4 smaller in inside diameter than the pile, and a pipe 11 inserted into the pile 1 to form an annular space 18 between itself and the inner periphery of the pile head, with the pipe having a lid 12 provided at its upper end for closing space between its upper end and the upper end of the pile head, and with the lower end of the pipe supported against the annular pate 3 and communicating with the hole 4.
