PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely position the light emission part of a plane emission laser and the input end part of an optical fiber in an optical transmitter obtained by connecting the plane emission laser and the optical fiber. SOLUTION: An optical fiber supporting member 2 is provided with an optical fiber through hole 21 to which the end part of the optical fiber F is to be inserted and provided with a photodiode 7. The through hole 21 and the photodiode 7 are arranged so that the center 21a of the cross section circle of the through hole 21 and the optical axis J2 of the part 3a for optical transmission may deviated by a prescribed quantity δ when the center point 7a of the photodiode 7 matches the optical axis J1 of the part 3b for reference light corresponding to the arrangement of the two light emission parts 3a and 3b of the laser 1. The center point 7a of the photodiode 7 and the optical axis J1 of the part 3b are matched with each other to connect the laser 1 and the member 2.
