PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a writing utensil capable of being designed compactly and permitting speedy and correct selection of leads. SOLUTION: At the rear part of the writing utensil, a push button 1, which can move backward and forward and rotate about its center axis and anchor at either selected one position between 2 or forward and backward positions, is provided. At the fore side of the push button 1, an eccentric rod 11 is provided at a position offset to a rotary center. At the fore side of the eccentric rod 11, selective sliders 2, each of which is under the state being fixing or holding each one among a plurality of leads at the fore side and which are divided into a plurality of sectors about its center axis. The eccentric rod 11 can select the rear side of the selective slider 2 for its forward pressing. At the back and forth midway site of the writing utensil, at its fore side, a hole by which each lead 4 fixed or held by each selective slider 2 can move back and forth, is provided. At the back side, the selective slider 2 is brought into a sliding state. At the same time, near pipe-like stoppers 3, within which elastic springs 34 having elastic force for allowing to retreat the selective sliders 2 exists, are provided. |
