PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a core mold for in-mold foam molding capable of making the design pattern of an in-mold foamed molded object sharp and capable of achieving cost reduction, and the core mold. SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing the core mold 1 for in-mold foam molding having an embossed pattern 5, which forms the design pattern on the surface 3a of the in-mold foamed molded object 3, formed to the molding surface 1a thereof, a reversal embossed pattern 7 wherein the embossed pattern 5 is reversed is formed to the surface 6a, which is formed into a shape almost same to that of the molding surface 1a, of a model 6 for manufacturing the core mold comprising a conductive material and subsequently transferred to the molding surface 1a by discharge processing to form the embossed pattern 5.
