PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink tank in which a recording head can perform printing regardless of the orientation of the ink ejection plane. SOLUTION: An ink tank 45 comprises an ink absorber 51 disposed in the vicinity of the supply opening 48 of an ink chamber 46, and high viscosity fluid 52 disposed oppositely to the ink absorber 51 while holding ink 47 between. Air 53 touches the high viscosity fluid 52 on the side opposite to the ink 47 wherein the air 53 is supplied by means of a pump, or the like, through an air supply pipe 54, an air supply opening 55, and an air conduction passage 56. The high viscosity fluid 52 is moved to the supply opening 48 side by an amount of ink 47 decreased by print operation of an ink jet head. |
