PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a core unit for producing a coreless winding body suitable for producing the coreless winding body wherein a tearing trouble and winding collapse do not occur and a thermoplastic resin cord winding device with the usage of it. SOLUTION: This core unit is equipped with a shaft 10, plural core piece driving means provided around the shaft 10 along a peripheral direction in equal intervals, plural core pieces 310 supported movably forward and back along a radial direction of the shaft 10 by the core piece driving means and forming a cylindrical core 30 when moving forward along the radial direction, a cord start end fastening means 40 for fastening a start end of a thermoplastic resin cord T at least in one of spaces between the core pieces 310 simultaneously with forming of the core 30 by the core piece 310, and an innermost layer welding means for partially heat-welding the thermoplastic resin cords T wound and piled around the core piece 310 at a winding start point of the thermoplastic resin cord.
