PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a translucent display device provided with a large screen capable of displaying a variety of images of high resolution without being affected by external light and having simple constitution suitable for outdoor installation. SOLUTION: The translucent display device is provided with a translucent display screen 1 provided with a light absorbing layer for absorbing external light such as solar light incident from the surface side and forming a large screen prevented from reflection, a casing 10 supporting the display screen 1 so as to install it outside, are conditioning equipment 30 integrated n the casing 10 and capable of suppressing a temperature rise caused by the light absorption of the light absorbing layer from the back side of the display screen 1, a projector 20 for projecting an image to the display screen 1 from the back side of the screen 1, and an image processor 25 for editing images obtained from a variety of media and providing the edited images to the projector 20.
