PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image transfer method capable of preparing a copy similar to a hard copy using paper by instantaneously transferring and memorizing an image from an original printed on one side of an electronic medium thin in thickness, light in weight and good in portability and being reused for many time by rewriting the image, and to provide an image transfer device using the method. SOLUTION: A transferred original is transmitted and the image based on light quantity distribution of light irradiated with the electronic medium is memorized in the electronic medium by superposing the original in which the image by light transmission rate distribution is recorded on the electronic medium where the image is visibly and freely erasably memorized by irradiation of light to indicate the image and impression of voltage, irradiating the original with the light and impressing prescribed writing voltage on the electronic medium.
