Process and apparatus for obtaining metal oxides from solutions

Acids are recovered from solutions containing metal salts by spray roasting them. The first spray roasting (the evaporation phase) is carried out with a short dwell time and is followed by a separate roasting (the oxidation phase) with a significantly longer dwell time. Also claimed is an apparatus for carrying out this process that includes a spray roaster (1) and a separate area (4) for the subsequent roasting.
