PURPOSE: A slip device of a universal joint is provided to make a male spline adhere to a female spline all the time by generating elasticity in one rotational direction. CONSTITUTION: A slip device(10) of which axial length is extended and reduced is formed between joints(30,40). An inner shaft(12) is installed in an outer shaft(11) having a female spline(11a) inside. A male spline(12a) engaged with the female spline is formed in the inner shaft. An elastic section(16) is fixed on the inner shaft to compensate the clearance of the male spline. Since the cleaner is compensated, the male spline is elastically supported toward the female spline. Then, the male spline adheres to the female spline. Further, the noise and vibration generated from the clearance between the male spline and the female spline are reduced.
