PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive unit for an automotive sliding door, which is compact, and facilitates mounting thereof in any type of existing vehicle having at least one sliding door mounted thereon, without requiring adjustment thereof. SOLUTION: The driving unit is formed of a mechanical member for transmitting torque generated by a slave motor, and a flexible pulling element arranged outside the vehicle. The pulling element is connected to the door 2 via a carriage 10 which is movable within a driving rail 8. The driving unit is comprised of a driving member 61 which is connected to a transmitting member at one end 15 of the rail 8 to reversibly drive the pulling element, and a member 41 which returns the pulling member at the other end 17 of the rail. |
