PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roller and a thermal fixing device excellent in the heat resistance and heat insulating property which can save the electric power consumption when used for an electrostatic transfer type image forming device part. SOLUTION: The roller is constituted by forming a foamed body layer on the peripheral surface of a core material and using a polyimide foamed body for the foamed layer.
