摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrogen sensor capable of accurately measuring the concentration of hydrogen gas in gas to be measured without being affected by methanol contained in the gas to be measured. SOLUTION: The hydrogen sensor has first and second electrodes 3 and 4 provided in contact with a proton conductive layer 2, a gas diffusion rate- limiting part 6 provided between a gas atmosphere to be measured and the first electrode 3 and supports (1a and 1b) for supporting the proton conductive layer 2, the first and second electrodes 3 and 4 and the gas diffusion rate- limiting part 6. The hydrogen gas in the gas to be measured introduced through the gas diffusion rate-limiting part 6 is dessociated, decomposed or reacted by applying voltage across the first and second electrodes 3 and 4, and the concentration of the hydrogen gas is calculated on the basis of a limit current generated by fundamentally pumping up the generated protons toward the second electrode 4 from the first electrode 3 through the proton conductive part 2. The concentration of hydrogen on the first electrode 3 is controlled to 10<-12> atom or more in terms of hydrogen partial pressure.
