PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a conjugated triene derivative. SOLUTION: The method for producing a conjugated triene derivative to be represented by formula (2) (wherein Ar is an aryl group which may have a substituent; and the wave line is any one of E/Z geometrical isomers or a mixture thereof) comprises reacting a disulfone derivative to be represented by formula (1) with a base; and the method for producing a conjugated triene derivative to be represented by formula (2) comprises reacting a sulfone to be represented by formula (4) with an allyl halide derivative to be represented by formula (5) (wherein X is a halogen atom; R is a protective group for the hydroxy group; and the wave line are the same as defined above) in the presence of a basic compound to obtain a sulfone derivative to be represented by formula (3), subjecting the sulfone derivative to sulfonation reaction to obtain a disulfone derivative to be represented by formula (1), and reacting the derivative with a base.
