PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of economically manufacturing a polyester molded object excellent in transparency and hard to generate unpleasant taste and an offensive smell while lowering energy cost at the time of production and capable of also improving the contamination of a mold at the time of production of the molded object. SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing the polyester molded object by treating polyester tips, which are obtained by the polycondensation of a low mol.wt. polymer obtained by esteriftcation or interesterification of aromatic dicarboxylic acid or a functional derivative thereof and glycol or a functional derivative thereof, with water in a treatment tank and subsequently molding them in a molten state, the water treatment of the polyester chips is performed while passing inert gas through the treatment tank at the time of water treatment and the polyester melt is molded while brought into contact with inert gas at the time of melt molding. |
