PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize rapid reaction of a system by effectively releasing air in a fluid passage to be discharged to an external part along with filling the fluid passage with pressure oil, when an engine is restarted. SOLUTION: An internal combustion engine is provided with at least one passage 100 to release air in a fluid passage. The passage 100 for air bleeding communicates a pressure chamber C, related to a tappet 16 operated by a cam shaft, directly with outside air. When the tappet 16 is moved from its rest position, the passage 100 is cut off and closed.
