PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wire-type window regulator which prevents a driving wire from being damaged, and positively prevents the driving wire from slipping out of a wire guide member. SOLUTION: The wire-type window regulator is comprised of upper and lower brackets, wire guide members, the driving wire, and a forward/backward winding drive unit. The upper and lower brackets are fixed to upper and lower portions inside a door of a vehicle. The wire guide members have respective wire winding portions, and they are mounted on the respective upper and lower brackets. The driving wire includes a vertical section stretched across the upper and lower wire guide members, and the vertical section is fixed onto a window glass. The forward/backward winding drive unit winds in the driving wire on one side thereof and unwinds the same on the other side thereof, to thereby ascend/descend the window glass. According to the window regulator, the upper and lower brackets each have a slipout preventive wall 7 integrally molded therewith, and each slipout preventive wall 7 faces a winding portion 10a of the wire guide member 10 across an interval which is narrower than a diameter of the driving wire W, whereby the driving wire is prevented from slipping out of the winding portion.
