PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation apparatus, having a monitor 8 held rotatably about a vertical shaft to a rectangular screen 9, which is capable of always keeping long the distance to the forwarding destination of the apparatus itself or the scroll-forward side in a map displayed on the screen 9 so as to keep high front wide performance, and preventing the distance from varying by a large amount depending on the difference in advancing direction or scrolling direction. SOLUTION: The monitor 8 is rotated, according to a change in the advancing direction or the scrolling direction of the navigation apparatus itself. More specifically, the monitor 8 is driven to rotate, so that the direction of the long side of the screen 9 of the monitor 8 coincides with the advancing direction or scrolling direction of the apparatus itself. |
