PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mold for molding a resin product, easy to manufacture and advantageous from an aspect of cost, and a method for manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: A mold matrix 1 having a plus dimension with respect to the final shape of the mold is cast and the molding surface 2 of the cast mold matrix 1 is subjected to cutting processing until the shape thereof becomes minus as compared with the final shape of the mold and shot blasting treatment is subsequently applied to the molding surface 2 having being subjected to cutting processing. Thereafter, an iron plating layer 4 is formed to the molding surface 2 so that the thickness thereof becomes plus as compared with the final shape and finish processing is further applied to the iron plating layer 4 until the molding surface becomes the final shape.
