PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the durability of parts around a chuck by eliminating the transmission loss of impact energy when a pile is struck, so as to achieve a high operational efficiency. SOLUTION: This pile driver and drawer 1 having a hydraulic striking device 5 includes: a hollow rod 7 connected to the chuck 11 supporting the pile 15; a main striking rod 8 by which impact imparted by the main piston 6 of the device 5 passed into the rod 7 is transmitted to the pile 15; and a reverse piston 9 for pushing up the rod with a force equal to or greater than upward thrust applied to the body 2 of the pile driver and drawer 1 when the pile 15 is drawn out.
