PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gasoline composition which is excellent in fuel- consumption and power output characteristics by adjusting gasoline or a gasoline composition with a compound having high lubricity so that the lubricating effect due to the addition of the compound is brought about to the maximum. SOLUTION: This gasoline composition contains such as a compound that when the content of the compound is 20 mg/L, the diameter of a wear mark in a gasoline HFRR test is better by at least 10% than test gasoline not containing the compound. The composition has (1) a research octane number(RON) of 95 or higher, (2) a motor octane number(MON) of 83 or higher, (3) a vapor pressure (37.8 deg.C) of 44-65 kPa, and (4) a sulfur content of 10 ppm or lower.
