PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high performance gas barrier film using a polypropylene film as a substrate. SOLUTION: This method for producing the gas barrier film is characterized by longitudinally orienting an unoriented film obtained by melt-extruding a polypropylene-based resin, subjecting the longitudinally oriented film to a corona discharge treatment, coating the corona-treated surface of the longitudinally oriented film with a water-soluble resin coating solution comprising a water-soluble acrylic resin, a water-soluble urethane resin and polyvinyl alcohol, laterally orienting the film, and then forming a vacuum-deposited inorganic oxide film on the coated surface. |
