PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plate glass for a projecting screen equipped with a decorativeness and a practical function by making the glass usable as a reflection and transmission type screen, as a partitioning member in an embodiment of use and further as the top board of a table, on the plate glass, on which characters and figures can be written and from which they can be erased. SOLUTION: In the plate glass, onto the surface of which characters and patterns can be written and they can be erased by etching the surface of the transparent plate glass, on the back of the transparent plate glass a colored coating film layer is provided and a colored intermediate layer is provided between transparent plate glasses. The coating film layer or the intermediate layer is made of a white or light reflecting coloring matter of a black or light absorbing coloring matter. The coloring matter in the coating film layer or in the intermediate layer is made of pigment dispersed in the layer so that some part of the light incident from the surface of the plate glass is reflected on the layer, absorbed by the layer and transmitted through the layer.
