PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical recording material which can be applied to a DVD-R disc system using a semiconductor laser with an oscillation wave length at a shorter wave length in comparison with conventional systems and with which recording can be performed in a wide wave length region and which has excellent light resistance and storage stability. SOLUTION: In the optical recording medium provided with a recording layer on a base, the optical recording medium is characterized by comprising three kinds of recording materials consisting of at least one compound among azo-metal chelate compounds consisting of an azo-compound expressed by general formula (I) and a metal or its salt, at least one kind of cyanine coloring matters and a formazan expressed by general formula (II) or its metal salt.
