<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a route guidance map capable of reducing data capacity to be transmitted and received and provided with the latest information and a route guidance system using the same. SOLUTION: For displaying the route guidance map on a portable terminal device 2, discrimination information on every cell which constitutes the route guidance map and locational information on the two-dimensional arrangement of the cells are transmitted from an information providing device 1. The relation between the cells for constituting maps and the cells for characters and the discrimination information is previously stored in the portable terminal device 2. When the portable terminal device 2 receives the discrimination information and the locational information from the information providing device 1, the route guidance map is created by two-dimensionally arranging the cells corresponding to the received discrimination information according to the locational information. The created route guidance map is displayed on the portable terminal device 2.</p> |
