PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent slurry from overflowing more than required in the case of abnormal pressure. SOLUTION: A slurry shield machine 10 has a main body 12 and a face plate 14, a partition plate 16 is installed on the front end side of the main body 12 at a regular interval from the rear of the face plate 14 and a chamber 18 is partitioned. A sludge forwarding pipe 22 and a sludge withdrawal pipe 20 mounted so as to be penetrated to the partition wall 16 are communicated and secured to the chamber 18. A pressure releasing device for the chamber 18 composed of an emergency pressure-control valve 30 is set up to the shield machine 10. In the emergency pressure-control valve 30, one end is communicated with the chamber 18, the other end is interposed in an opened slurry drainage 32, it is opened in the case of abnormal pressure (Pan) where pressure in the chamber 18 suddenly rises, slurry in the chamber 18 is discharged while abnormal pressure (Pan) disappears, it is closed in the case of a return to normal pressure (Pn) and it has a function in which the slurry drainage 32 is closed. |
