PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel control unit 40 for a gas turbine engine 10 that can increase a compressor stall margin when the engine is operated in a state liable to icing. SOLUTION: The fuel control unit is coupled to at least one fuel regulator in the engine to receive inputs from a plurality of sensors coupled to the engine. More specifically, the unit receives an input from an environment sensor and also inputs showing a compressor inlet temperature Theta25, a compressor discharge pressure P3 and a corrected core engine speed N2K25. The fuel control unit also receives an input from another engine fuel regulator.
