PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing material for an oil hole drill with low porosity near an oil hole, and a method of manufacturing an oil hole drill that can prevent the degradation of mechanical strength by suppressing the formation of a micropore without impairing excellent productivity shown in JP, 11-236602, A. SOLUTION: In this method of manufacturing the material for the oil hole drill with low porosity near an oil hole, at least raw material powder and an organic binder are mixed and kneaded to obtain a compound with an apparent viscosity of 15,000-30,000 Pa.s, and then the compound is extrusion-molded while rotating a spiral pin with arithmetic mean roughness (Ra) of 0.80μm or less, to obtain a molding with a spiral hole. After removing the binder, the molding is sintered at 1423-1523 K (1150-1250 deg.C) in a vacuum to obtain a sintered compact and the sintered compact is subjected to hot hydrostatic pressing and annealed to manufacture the material for the oil hole drill with low porosity near the oil hole.
