REACTION METHOD, REACTION APPARATUS AND ENZYME

A reaction method in which a mediator in an activated state thereof is charged into a reaction system containing a substrate. Preferably, the activation of the mediator is practiced at a pre-step under mild conditions with enzymes. Further, preferably, a highly active mediator with particularly improved activity and/or stability is charged into the reaction system. An enzymatic method for decomposing a substrate which comprises: immobilizing peroxidase as an oxidoreductase in a structure unit with structural stability and with a dimension approximately fitting to the size of the enzyme; and decomposing the substrate with an oxidizing reagent within a concentration range allowable through the immobilization. A reaction promoter for use in a decomposition reaction system of a substrate with an oxidoreductase, the reaction promoter having a diketone structure radicalizable on the basis of the action of the oxidoreductase and being soluble in water. A manganese peroxidase enzyme solution and manganese peroxidase obtained by culturing an SC26 strain as a mutant strain of Phanerochaete crysosporium.
