SOLUTION: In the gas sensor having a type equipped with a sensor element 10, which includes at least one electrochemical cell which has first and second electrodes 31 and 32 arranged on at least one solid electrolyte 21 so as to be spaced apart from each other and is constituted so that the second electrode 32 is arranged in one reference gas chamber 51, and especially measuring the physical quantity of a gas component especially in the exhaust gas of an internal combustion engine, the third electrode 33 coming into contact with the gas positioned in a gas chamber 52 is provided and the gas component can be replaced between the gas chamber 52 and the reference gas chamber 51 by voltage applied across the second and third electrodes 32 and 33. |
