PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an easily usable and reliable system capable of coping with a failure with other constitutional elements even when part of constitutional elements is failed. SOLUTION: In the radiation image photographing system arranging two or more controllers for registering the identification information of a radiation image storing sheet body and two or more radiation image readers for outputting picture data obtained by reading out radiation images stored in the sheet body on the same network, each controller requests the transmission of the picture data of the radiation image read out from the sheet body set in any of the image readers designated by the controller to the controller itself and the image reader requested to transmit the picture data from the controller transmits the picture data of the radiation image read out from the sheet body.
