<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage-stable, fast-drying, multi-component water-based coating composition and a coating derived from the same. SOLUTION: The storage-stable, fast-drying, water-based coating composition comprises (a) an anionically stabilized binder polymer, (b) a vinyl amine polymer bearing 20-100 wt.%, based on the total weight of the vinyl amine polymer, of an amine functional unit, and (c) a volatile base in a sufficient amount enough to raise the pH of the composition to a pH where substantially all amine groups of the vinyl amine polymer are in a nonionic state.</p> |
