N-PHENYLINDOLE AND N-PYRIDYLINDOLE DERIVATIVES, THEIR PREPARATION AND THEIR USE AS HERBICIDE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a substituted N-arylindole, its preparation process, and a method for using the same as the herbicide. SOLUTION: The substituted N-arylindole is represented by formula (1). The herbicidal composition comprises a herbicidally effective amount of the N-arylindole and a diluent. The method for using the N-arylindole controls undesirable vegetation in the presence of a crop and comprises applying a herbicidally effective amount of the compound of formula (1) in a locus where control of such vegetation is desired, either prior to or subsequent to the emergence of such vegetation.
