PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrogenated diene-based polymer manufacturing method capable of efficiently removing a catalyst after hydrogenation reaction and capable of lessening the inference of discharged waste water on the environment. SOLUTION: In this method for manufacturing the hydrogenated diene-based polymer, hydrogenation proceeds in a hydrocarbon solvent in the presence of a hydrogenation catalyst comprising an 8 or 10 group transition metal compound and an organic aluminum compound, the reaction mixture is then treated with an oxidizing agent and next with an organic and/or inorganic acid, and then washed in water to dissolve the 8-10 group transition metal and aluminum in the hydrogenation catalyst into the water to be removed. The method is characterized in that a nonaqueous alcohol is added to the reaction mixture at least at one stage between the treatment with the oxidizing agent and the washing in water.
