PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotation preventing tool for a spiral coil for bookbinding, which is simple in structure and can be used easily. SOLUTION: A plurality of sheets of paper 20 are bound integrally by inserting the spiral coil 1 for bookbinding in sheets of paper 9, in each of which a plurality of holes 8 are bored at fixed intervals. In this case, the spiral coil 1 is foxed to a predetermined position by using the rotation preventing tool 10 without deforming the end part 2 of the spiral coil 1. The rotation preventing tool 10 is equipped with an engaging part 12, which is frictionally engaged with the end part 2 of the spiral coil 1, and a main body 14 larger than the hole 8 of the paper 9. The main body 14 is made of a flexible member. Since the size of the engaging part 12 is smaller than the wire diameter of the spiral coil, both the deterrer 10 and the spiral coil 1 are fixed integrally to each other. Accordingly, the reusability of the spiral coil 1 and the paper 9 is ensured and, at the same time, a terminal treatment with an easy operability is provided. Further, the formation of a reinforcing part and an incision in the main body 14 may be permitted.
