PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a direction judging device that can judge a direction in a short time without using prestage condition of each of the pulse signals obtained from a two phase encoder when judging the direction using the pulse signals from the two phase encoder. SOLUTION: The direction judging device 35 comprises an edge detector 40 that detects the edge of each of the signals from two pulse signals A, B from the encoder 100, and a phase detector 50 that detects the same phase and the different phase of each of the signals. A first signal judging part 55 judges a changed pulse signal as the pulse signal of a forward side when the two pulse signals A, B are in a same phase, and a second signal judging part 56 judges the changed pulse signal as the appositely propagating pulse signal when the two signals A, B are in different phases. The prestage condition of each of the pulse signals is not needed, and a process and a hardware resource for the use of the prestage condition are omitted. As a result, the direction judging device with a low cost and high speed process can be realized. |
