PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transport paper in a stable state from a transfer position to a fixing device even when processing speed is changed with the change of resolution. SOLUTION: When a lower resolution of 600 dpi is selected, a carrying belt 2 and a suction fan 3 are rotated at a higher speed out of two kinds of speeds, namely the higher speed and the lower speed with the sucking force of paper P to the upper surface of the belt 2 being made larger so as to securely suck the paper P on the upper surface of the belt 2 rotated at the comparatively high speed. Meanwhile, when a higher resolution of 1200 dpi is selected, the belt 2 and the fan 3 are rotated at a lower speed out of two kinds of speeds, namely the higher speed and the lower speed with the sucking force of paper P to the upper surface of the belt 2 being made smaller so as to prevent the paper P from being loosened because the paper P is excessively sucked on the upper surfaces of the belt 2 rotated at the comparatively low speed. |
