PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a long-life image forming device which is equipped with a single-layer type photosensitive drum with excellent wear resistance and free of image fogging, etc., due to a drop in surface potential and deterioration in sensitivity for a long period. SOLUTION: This image forming device is equipped with an electrostatic charging control means so that the potential detected by a potential sensor detecting the potential of the surface an organic photosensitive drum electrostatically charged according to voltage data obtained during previous electrostatic charging approximates a target potential, and electrostatically charges the organic photosensitive drum surface by the controlled electrostatic charging means. The organic photosensitive drum is a single-layer type photosensitive drum which has a photosensitive layer formed of binder resin containing at least an electric charge generating agent, an electron transfer agent, and a hole transfer agent on a conductive base; and the mobility of the electron transfer agent corresponding to electric field intensity of 5×10<5> V/cm is >=1.0×10<-8> cm<2> /V/sec and the solid component density of the binder resin is 50 to 70 wt.% of all solid component density. |
