PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To assemble a flange member with ring parts and cap parts, and to automatically and easily discriminate the front of the ring part from the rear thereof. SOLUTION: After the cap parts 20a are disposed on a first index table 38a, the ring parts 24a are disposed on the first index table in the state of being partly superimposed on the cap parts 20a. Next the ring parts 24a are stuck to the cap parts 20a through heat seals 50 to provide light shielding members 18a. Then an inspection mechanism 60 sucks the ring parts 24a and raises to a specified inspection position. In this case, when the front and rear sides of the ring parts 24a are inversed, the ring parts 24a are sucked to the suction pads 76 and separated from the cap parts 20a. When the front and rear sides of the ring parts 24a are normal, the ring parts are stuck to the cap parts 20a and separated from the suction pad 76. Accordingly, the front and rear sides of the ring parts 24a can be surely discriminated from each other by detecting a variation in vacuum pressure of the suction pad 76.
