PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aluminum alloy and an aluminum alloy for a plain bearing, which sufficiently secure room temperature low strength (representa tively, conformability when applied for the plain bearing) and high temperature high strength (high temperature fatigue strength), and to provide a plain bearing using the alloy. SOLUTION: The aluminum alloy has a composition containing 2 to 20 mass% Sn, 0.1 to 3 mass% Cu and 0.1 to 4.5 vol.% TiC particles having the average particle size of <=0.2μm, and the balance Al with inevitable impurities. The plain bearing consists of the aluminum alloy.
