PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a cost, and to miniaturize a device by miniaturizing a pump by reducing a required workload of the pump by preventing an overshoot of braking fluid pressure of rear wheels even at sudden braking time, and precisely performing braking restraining control for the rear wheels. SOLUTION: This brake control device has a hydraulic control valve b capable of reducing and increasing fluid pressure of a wheel cylinder a, a wheel speed detecting means c for detecting a wheel speed, and a braking control means d for performing rear wheel braking restraining control for prohibiting a pressure increase in the rear wheels when the rear wheels become a prescribed slip state on the basis of the detected wheel speed. The braking control means d is formed as a means for performing emergency rear wheel braking restraining control for prohibiting the pressure increase in the rear wheels for a prescribed time when car body deceleration is larger tan a present sudden deceleration determining value, and when wheel deceleration of a control object wheel of the rear wheels is larger than a preset deceleration present value even if the rear wheels do not become the prescribed slip state.
