PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detergent which has high safety for the user and the object to be cleaned high detergency deodorizability and germicidic action, and furthermore has a less adverse affect of the residual component in drainage, the atmosphere, and a method for manufacturing the detergent. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the detergent comprises cooling a liquid of powdered animal bones obtained by adding the fired powdered animal bones in the almost same amount to a specified amount of fresh water and boiling the mixture to about 50 deg.C, adding 30-60 cc per one liter of the liquid of the animal powdered bones, strong acid having a pH of 1.5-2.5 to the liquid of powdered the animal bones to adjust the pH of the entire liquid to about 7.5-10.5, adding a surface active agent to the liquid to render the concentration 3-5%, cooling the liquid to a normal temperature, then adding thereto a stabilized aqueous chlorine dioxide solution having a concentration of 50,000 ppm in an amount of 5-7% based on the entire liquid, and rendering the resulting liquid in a uniformly dispersed state. The detergent can be obtained by such a method.
