<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of treating garbage and animal wastes wherein effective utilization of energy and reduction in maintenance and management costs can be achieved by combining garbage treatment and animal waste treatment. SOLUTION: Garbage is treated in a methane fermentation system 3, while animal wastes are treated in a composting system 7. Biogas generated at the system 3 is used as a fuel in a power generation facility 6 to generate power and the power generated is supplied to a garbage treatment facility 1 as self- consumption power, and at the same time excessive power and waste heat exhausted from the facility 6 is supplied to the composting system 7, while fermentation liquid produced in the system 3 is coagulated and dehydrated at a solid-liquid separating system 4, whereby separated liquid of the fermentation liquid is purified at a purification system 5 so as to be discharged, and residues separated from the fermentation liquid are composted together with the animal wastes at the system 7.</p> |
