PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an indwelling method for an endoscope system and an indwelling tube, which has simple and excellent operability upon indwelling an indwelling tube into a body cavity or a guide member to guide the indwelling tube. SOLUTION: An endoscope system 1 has a fixing member (guide catheter fixing member 31a) detachably equipped on a tip end part 21 of an endoscope inserting part 11 to detachably fix and retain the tip end part of the indwelling tube or the guide member (guide catheter 30) placed along the periphery axis direction of the endoscope inserting part 11 on to the tip end part 21 of the endoscope inserting part 11.
