PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drum type drying and washing machine easily shortening drying time and reducing a running cost. SOLUTION: The drum type drying and washing machine is provided with an almost horizontally disposed drum 5 housing and rotating laundry fed from an opening part 5a on a front surface, a hot water heat exchanger 26 exchanging heat with surrounding air by the distribution of hot water and a hot water supply valve 14 connected to an external hot water supply means 30 and alternately supplying the hot water into the drum and to the hot water heat exchanger 26. The hot water is supplied into the drum 5 and the laundry is washed. Also, the hot air heated by heat exchange with the hot water heat exchanger 26 is supplied into the drum 5 to dry the laundry.
