PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus capable of effectively disinfecting even a confluent sewerage overflow water containing a suspended matter without reducing the activity of a disinfectant. SOLUTION: The wastewater disinfection method includes, as its feature, a flocculant adding process for adding a flocculant to wastewater and a disinfectant adding process for adding a bromine or iodine type disinfectant to wastewater.
