PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lower the noise of a driving power transmission mechanism and to suppress the large fluctuation of a motor rotation number accompanying load fluctuation at the time of shaving, with respect to a rotary type electric razor transmitting motor driving power to an inner blade by gear transmission. SOLUTION: First and second transmission chambers 27 and 28 are sectioned at one side and lower part of a razor head 2 and both transmission chambers 27 and 28 are hermetically sectioned by a partition wall 29. A gear group G taking over the motor driving power is arranged in the first transmission chamber 27 and a wrapping transmission mechanism H driving an inner blade 9 is arranged in the second transmission chamber 28. For the wrapping transmission mechanism H, a timing belt 55 is a transmission element. At the time of the load fluctuation, though rotary reaction force is to be transmitted from the side of the inner blade 9 to the side of a motor 17, the rotary reaction force is absorbed in the gear group G provided between the wrapping transmission mechanism H and the motor 17 and the sudden change in the number of rotations of the motor 17 is blocked.
